Where you have a network of more than one computer accessing your communications, you need the network version of SmartCom for efficient sharing of the connection for e-mail, together with Wingate for shared web access.
SmartCom Network incorporates all of the features of SmartCom Satellite, plus the following enhancements:

Allows any number of PCs on the network to share the communications devices for e-mail
Controlled send and receive reduces communications charges
Full mail server capabilities, with mail being held in SmartCom until the user opens up his e-mail client and checks his mail
Central control of outgoing e-mail format overrides client settings, so you can control whether attachments are allowed, and whether the body of the e-mail is converted to plain text or not

Note that SmartCom network's dialler does not at present support Windows' built-in Internet Connection Sharing, so when used on its own the other machines on the network cannot access the web, only e-mail. Where it is desired to allow shared web access as well as e-mail, it is recommended that a 3rd party proxy server is used.
